Relatability , Visibility, Influence…

Provide value and build trust. Be social and you will stay at the top of others’ minds!

“What is branding?”

“How do increase my search results?”

“Why aren’t my friends calling me for help first?”

Got some questions? You’ve come to the right place!

Social media is the best way to build trust, form relationships with potential clients, and nurture relationships for repeat business.

90% of home buyers begin their search online.

Facebook has become the new word-of-mouth.

Anyone can create a blog or start a profile, but just like a house, posting a for sale sign and hoping the buyer comes isn’t enough. You can’t just set it and forget it.

“Great agents know their network is critical to listing and selling homes. The challenge is creating an expression of that network online!” ~Marin W. Smith, Scent Trail Marketing

There are many distractions and disruptions between you and your potential or past clients online. Every activity you engage in online- your website, your blog, your email newsletter, your social media– shrinks that distance.

Think of all of that engagement like a fishing net. Each profile or activity adds to your net making it larger. The bigger the net, the more fish you will catch!

Now more than ever, your online presence is just as important as your offline presence. Networking has always been important, but now, much of that can happen online!

It can be a rabbit hole, though. It takes a lot of time to create content and to use that content correctly. Every platform has a voice and a unique audience.

So how do you build a loyal following?

It’s not about numbers, it’s about being social. Don’t worry about the number of followers you have. Your job on social media is to be social. Don’t be a billboard, start a conversation.

Real estate agents with an online presence are prepared for the future

As I mentioned, 90% of home buyers start their journey online. Will they pick up the phone book when they’ve made the decision to buy? Or will they go with the most helpful agent found along their online journey?

Social media and online marketing is a marathon. It takes time to build a following. It takes time to learn what works and doesn’t for your audience. The time to start is now.

I can help.

My goal with Get Social with Cat is to help as many agents as I can discover the beauty of taking their networking online. I want to help you be at the forefront of your family and friend’s minds when they are thinking of buying or selling a home.

Why?

Because I know that technology can be scary. It’ a brave new world! The way we communicate is changing every day and increasingly, that means we need technology to do it!

Real estate is changing, “disrupters” are creeping in, and throughout all of this, you have clients to please.

I’m here to help. I have spent several years coming up with systems and plans to make this all easy on you, the agent, so you can focus on your customers. From helping you set up an IDX website, to blogging, to being a watchful eye on your posts, I will customize my services to your exact and individual needs.

“Build it, and they will come” only works in the movies. Social Media is a “build it, nurture it, engage them, and they may come and stay.” ~Seth Godin, sethgodin.com

About Cat

Cat Smith of Get Social with Cat

I was born and raised in the Northern California Bay Area. From the majestic top of Mt. Tam to the rolling hills of grapevines, I think we are the luckiest humans on the planet. That is why I choose to manage real estate clients around the Sonoma and Marin Counties exclusively.

Getting to know you and your business is my top priority. You can hire one of those online services that posts on your behalf, but do they speak in your voice? Do they know the beauty of this area? And most importantly, can they show potential clients what it’s like to work with you? No.

I like to meet my clients in person and get to know their interests and personality so that I may speak more genuinely for them. Because I only focus on real estate, I’m comfortable speaking the lingo and have an inside track to what your community may be looking for. Through Facebook ads, I can help you pinpoint and target your absolute desired customer.

Background

When my spouse joined the real estate world several years ago, joining Vanguard Properties in Marin as an agent, I wanted to help. I love using social media especially to support a cause or to promote projects I’m working on, and have been very successful in my endeavors.

I didn’t just want to use what had worked for me in the past. I wanted to learn the best way to help a Realtor® with their specific needs.

Helping my family grow in the real estate world led to others asking for help and I decided to branch out, creating a business, Get Social with Cat.

I now work with busy real estate agents in the Bay Area with their social media and digital marketing needs. I’m creating programs to reach out and teach agents in other areas how to be successful. I’ve been lucky enough to speak regularly for several brokerages and recently had the opportunity to present a talk to the Women’s Council of Realtors in Marin.

For four years, I devoured everything I could on how to market and promote real estate agents, build community engagement and develop a presence online. Over time, I came to realize there are 5 things everyone should be doing online to be successful, whether a real estate agent or not:

The Future

This is an interesting time to be in real estate, or any entrepreneurial venture really. Don’t be afraid of technology; embrace it. Remember, branding is just what people say about you when you’re not in the room. Don’t tell them who you are, show them!
